Tillandsia recurvifolia V. subsecundifolia X aeranthos
recurvifolia V. subsecundifolia X aeranthos
Peter Tristram 08/17

Peter Tristram ... "Some years ago I put pollen from a nice, purple leafed aeranthos that I bought from Holm onto my giant form of recurvifolia var subsecundifolia, with some attractive results. A few bloomed small last year and some larger seedlings are blooming this season. I sold last year’s bloomers at the Brom Fair in Sydney under formula. The clump has been grown under plastic so I would expect much more intensity in the leaf colour of the purple-leafed aeranthos crosses in more direct light. Some look to be selfs too and are slower growing. Maybe it’s time to split the grex plants up!
There is quite a variation between the seedlings hence my reluctance to grex name the cross."
