From Chris Larson... Re: the Druid on the previous mail: Paul Isley sold Collectors Corner a pile of what he said were T.ionantha Druid. He also registered a plant called T. Sumo Size White. All of the plants he supplied us are, as I see it, T. ionantha ‘Sumo Size White’. Yours looks the same.

From Ray Clark... Thanks to Chris for the heads up with the origins of what looks almost certain to be T.'Sumo Size white'; a quick look at the BCR site shows something very close to the plant in the foreground.
The plant pictured to the rear of my shot is also labelled as 'Druid' and according to my records came from Derek around Jan 2006.
It has flowered in the past and now has formed a clump including the four offsets which together are not as big as Sumo!

From FCBS site (from Derek Butcher)... Named by Paul Isley in May 2010, for a large albino flowered cultivar of T. ionantha. Plant purchased in the early 1990’s as ‘Druid’ with origin unknown. It was clearly different to the cultivar of this name and was an example of a sport from another form of T. ionantha. Our new cultivar is up to 2-3 times larger than ‘Druid’, in fact similar in size to T.ionantha var. maxima, and almost forms a pseudo-bulb. Leaves are longer and appear to have less density of trichomes. This particular plant seems to be fairly widely grown throughout the world under various unofficial names. It is suggested that you do use the name ‘Sumo Size White’ for consistency sake.
For a short period this plant was sold as ‘Aurea Grandis’
Mark Supple 05/14 as T.ionantha 'Druid'
Jenny Brittain 05/16
From Bob Hudson... "Mark, this is a great plant. It grows much larger than Tillindsia ionantha 'druid' and the whole plant turns yellow, where as the 'Druid' is a smaller plant and only turns yellow one end of the leaves."
